World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is also known as "upping". Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item level upgrade is leveled up.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade.
