Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be done through a number of means that include the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the most common method of upgrading equipment. These are items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer a general bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

To upgrade items an item, simply select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. If you do not have enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item upgrading is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced by various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded using the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune, and many are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the item's name, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They animate to capture the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, which makes them more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by specific amount. This is clearly displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is the maximum value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by and not the amount it will actually increase it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

If you want to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to save it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered as a loss.

Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to add an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is helpful for players who take a lot damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment, and can be found in various ways such as in mistery boxes or as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon and can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, but they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is an excellent method to improve an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is reduced by the number rerolls it took to get it to the final level. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options to raise the ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It would be fairer to allow people to pay for it using money or food items, which would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest too much time. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items it is essential to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. Most of the time the Best item upgrader roll will result from glyphs, but there are also chances for greater or special rolls. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special kind of item, it is likely to receiving an additional level.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on its base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to achieve the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky your upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its Upgrade Item track, and will unlock an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.

Depending on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For example an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an extraordinary item will have a chance to get the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
